Blueleaf is an award-winning digital commerce agency. They blend online business insight with digital intelligence and technical production to enable their clients to exceed their commercial goals online. They have helped companies like Laura Ashley, Next, Joseph, Twentieth Century Fox and Red Bull optimise their commercial potential through increasing online sales.
Blueleaf exists for a single purpose: to inspire great retail. They achieve this by working collaboratively with their clients, inspiring them along the way with their thinking, their work and their results. Of equal importance is the fact that they don’t claim to specialise in everything. They bring their expertise of creating fantastic retail experiences and work with a network of trusted partners – as opposed to suppliers – to deliver the end to end project.
The only chink in Blueleaf’s armour was their hosting provider. They were working with a well-known commodity provider who although technically capable, never really embraced the partnership approach. Even though they were just down the road from Blueleaf’s Cheshire HQ, they insisted on working remotely and were highly reticent to attend new business meetings. Things needed to change.
Blueleaf’s MD Rob Smith was recommended to speak to Wirehive by agency growth specialists, Cact.us. After a couple of initial meetings it was clear that the two companies had a lot in common.
“I liked that Wirehive focused exclusively on digital agencies and clearly set out their stall as a technology partner rather than a provider. They proactively flagged proposal and pitch support as one of the ways we could make the most out of the partnership. It was clear we were dealing with a very different hosting company.”
Not only was there a clear cultural fit but the Wirehive hosting proposition was much better suited to Blueleaf’s digital retail clients. Wirehive’s public cloud platform, built on best of breed virtualisation technology from VMWare, ticked all the boxes in terms of tech credentials but the biggest benefit was their tierless support model. Rob was quickly convinced of the benefits.
“The fact that our sales guys or development team can just pick up the phone and get through to a friendly person who knows us and our customers is a huge bonus. It enables us to give the responsive service our clients expect. More importantly we’re confident that Wirehive will represent us and our standards of delivery when they’re handling the client conversation directly.”
Now, whenever Blueleaf have a project with a hosting requirement they introduce Wirehive to the client and let them take it from there.
“From my point of view the biggest advantage working with Wirehive is the fact I can choose not to know about the hosting. It’s one less thing for me and the rest of the team to worry about which means we have more time to focus on the part of the project we’re best at – the retail experience.”
