Our Senior System Administrators are responsible for handling and coordinating technical queries raised directly by Wirehive customers and also in the diagnosing and troubleshooting of those issues.
We’re looking for proactive customer-focused champions who have great technical working knowledge of server administration with in-depth Windows and/or Linux skills, as well as the DNS system, MTAs, MDAs, Web- and FTP-servers.
You’ll also enjoy mentoring and bringing on junior team members.

Key operating systems – Ubuntu (12.04, 14.04, 16.04), Redhat, Debian Linux, CentOS/CloudLinux (cPanel/WHM) and Windows Server (2008, 2012, 2016), Exchange Server, SQL Server.
Monitoring, Automation and Version Control – Nagios, Git, Ansible, bespoke tools.
Key Responsibilities include:
Trouble-shoot and pro-actively show initiative to improve customer technical services, and where necessary suggest and implement improvements, both in a process format and via hardware/software improvements.
Support and general maintenance of Servers, improving and maintaining server templates and stacks.
Acquire, maintain and expand knowledge of relevant product offerings, current support policies, and methods of support delivery, in order to quickly provide technically accurate and complete solutions.
Occasionally travel to customer sites to perform on-site troubleshooting, upgrades, etc.
Assist with projects either at customer sites, data centres or where required.
Undertake routine server management tasks and be willing to handle and be accountable for escalated or problematic support issues and provide reassurance to the customer.
General database administration and maintenance – with regard to upgrades or additional services to the customer’s solutions.
Linux Experience, especially using Redhat/Debian/Ubuntu Linux and/or
Windows Server and Workstation, Exchange Server, SQL Server
Exposure to cPanel advantageous
Technical knowledge of DNS, Email, FTP- and Web-servers and general system administration.
Working knowledge of virtualisation.
Working knowledge of TCP/IP Networking
Working knowledge of computer hardware.
Minimum 3 – 4 Years relevant work experience or
Degree, HND or equivalent
