Restructuring for Growth
We’re delighted to announce the promotion of Chloe Cameron and Kevin MacDonald to Managing Partners here at Wirehive.
Chloe and Kevin are two of our longest serving employees who previously headed up the marketing and sales departments respectively. They have played a key role in Wirehive’s success, both in making the move to our new home possible, but also in achieving last years phenomenal financial result of 44% growth.
As Managing Partners they will be responsible for heading up the leadership team and the day to day running of the business. Chloe will take ownership of business operations and Kevin customer and partner delivery.
Our three founders will still be very much involved, not only at the board level but also by taking the opportunity to use their deep technical and commercial expertise to focus on new strategic areas for growth. Specifically in data and AI, and the modern workplace.
Robert Belgrave our CEO said in our annual kick off
“In this industry change is constant. If you’re not evolving you’re falling behind. We have so many great opportunities but we know it’s important to keep the ship steady while we go out and look for the next big thing”
Robert will be continuing his work understanding the commercial applications of emerging technologies and leading the charge on our data and AI proposition.
Our CTO Simon Green will be focussing on evolving our core services offering, ensuring our team and customers have access to the latest and greatest features and ways of working.
And in a return to his roots James Rossell, our COO will be building out an IT strategy practice to help businesses transform through the adoption of cloud based productivity and collaboration tools.
“We have an incredible opportunity in helping agencies transform their business with our Microsoft partnership but because of that we can also help businesses transform their workplaces and working practices through intelligent adoption and implementation of cloud, AI and modern workplace software.”
While many businesses would have appointed a traditional single seat MD role we believe a Managing Partner approach fits much more with Wirehive’s ethos of Powerful Partnerships.
“Wirehive is a business built on partnerships. We’ve never wanted to be just another supplier to our customers or digital agency partners but always an extension of their team. This is because we believe a partnership based on complementary strengths is greater than the sum of its parts. Why would we approach how we run our business any differently?” Kevin explained.
Adding to this Chloe shared “In many ways you couldn’t find two more different people than Kevin and I but that’s always been the secret to our excellent working relationship. We both know what we bring to the table and what the other is better at and go from there. Our ever-expanding team is just as diverse and we want them to benefit from leadership that values those differences and sees the benefit of peer collaboration to drive improved outcomes for clients.”
A key reason for this restructure is our ongoing drive to make Wirehive one of the best technology employers in the UK through a culture of personal growth, empowerment and mastery. For the past twelve months we’ve been deliberately moving towards more of a flat structure. We’ve by-passed traditional middle management and instead focussed on building a team that are accountable to each other and our customers. A team that works on trust and mutual respect rather than command and control.
It sounds simple but it has taken a lot of work and careful management as it’s not the norm.
Chloe, who now oversees people as part of her Managing Partner responsibilities, shared her vision. “One of the reasons I was so excited by the opportunity to expand my remit to include people is because I know from personal experience how much a culture of autonomy and coaching can accelerate career growth.”
Our ambitions are not limited to just our own team however. Kevin wants to ensure in his role we deliver more for our clients and partners. “Wirehive has always worked best when we’ve been able to be a strategic technology partner, whether that is with digital agencies or direct clients. However with our increased capability in cloud consulting, digital transformation and the Microsoft CSP Cloud Reseller programme I believe that Wirehive’s primary goal now is to be a growth partner for everyone we work with.”
Building on this, Robert explained “Technology has never been more crucial to commercial success than it is today but the reality is that most organisations are not technology organisations. On the battlefield of growth vs disruption the winners are those who adopt cloud technologies most quickly and effectively to gain competitive advantage. That’s where we believe we can help our clients the most and with Chloe and Kevin at the helm of the day to day running of Wirehive we couldn’t be in a better position to do just that.”
