If you’ve called into our support team recently you may have noticed a couple of new voices at the end of the phone.
A few weeks ago we welcomed not one but two new sys admins to the Wirehive Tech Team. As most of you will probably be speaking to them over the coming weeks or months we thought we’d give you a chance to get to know the people behind the voices:

Having graduated from university with a degree in IT I began my career in IT marketing, working on many lead generation campaigns for BlueChip organisations such as Microsoft, Oracle, NetApp, Fujitsu-Siemens, and Sun Microsystems. After 4 years working in IT marketing it was clear the industry was heading towards hosted IT services and virtualised technology so I decided to get back into the technical world. I started working for a global Education trust CfBT primarily to help with a company-wide data migration project and managing transition to new IT systems. After this project I began working as a technical systems engineer for a Microsoft Gold partner called Exclaimer who develop email management software for Exchange. After 4 years at Exclaimer I had the opportunity to join Wirehive as a Systems Administrator and be a part of an exciting dynamic organisation at the centre of an expanding managed hosting services sector. Outside of work I have been slowly focusing on terraforming my garden from a triffid haven into something more pleasing to the eye. Aside from that I also enjoy driving my silver Celica down the backroads of Woking and playing the odd round of golf. If you fancy a game I have a handicap of 12.

I have always been in IT. It all started when I got my first computer at the age of 5 and became hooked. Now, even though I’m a bit older, I still have that same passion for technology. I have worked in a number of different positions – from a desktop support engineer up to IT Manager. Whatever the role, I am the kind of person who likes to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty doing the most interesting stuff! – that’s how I got into hosting! Whenever I am not sitting in front of a computer you will find me either playing music (I play piano, guitar and harmonica) or getting lost in the wild and wonderful surroundings of the Disc World.
